Who is NYSAPE? www.nysape.org
NYSAPE is a coalition of educators, parents, and concerned community members who support a strong public education system.
We have a local ally that is on the NYS Allies for Public Education Steering Committee. Chris Cerrone is a Western New York parent of children ages 14 & 12, twenty-two year veteran educator, and Board of Education Trustee for Springville-Griffith Institute School. He is also the co-founder of WNY for Public Education.
Our union, NYSUT has supported NYSAPE since 2015. This group was critical in helping to bring us to our current moratorium on the use of high stakes testing in teacher evaluations.

TAKE ACTION: Support NYSAPE and oppose the governor's misguided education agenda

Governor Cuomo has declared war on public schools. Join us in fighting back.
New York State Allies for Public Education (NYSAPE), a coalition of 50 groups statewide, has sent a letter to the governor responding to the offensive, outrageous education questions he circulated in December.
Now we need to support NYSAPE and let lawmakers and education leaders know that the governor's education agenda is misguided, dangerous and bad for New York students.
The governor's disrespectful questions and his recent actions have demonstrated clearly that, rather than listening to parents, teachers and those who work in public schools each and every day, the governor is taking his education marching orders from the Wall Street hedge fund billionaires.
Take action now to tell lawmakers and other education leaders that you support NYSAPE and oppose the governor's misguided, dangerous education agenda.
If the governor wants to stand with the billionaires and education profiteers rather than parents, teachers and public school advocates, that is his choice. But we will stand together and say NO to his dangerous education agenda.
And we can start today.
In solidarity,
Andrew Pallotta
NYSUT Executive Vice President
